about us

Well first of all I’m a single parent and this site is my passion and hobby, not a mere cold, business concern.  I’ve a full time day job (I try to convince my employer I know what I’m doing in Marketing), I’ve 2 lovely little girls who like many children, can turn to gremlins at will; I’ve an Ex husband; a large mortgage; a bag full of letters I haven’t got around to posting and – like most single parents – a desperate need for 36 hour days.

Over the last 2 years I’ve come up against most of the issues facing single parents and despite endless hours on the internet I just haven’t been able to find a site that covers everything. Following the age old adage “if you want something doing, do it yourself”, we did!

It’s taken 4 long months to get here and a lot of late, late nights groaning at my pc trying to work out totally incomprehensible design packages. My partner in crime, both in life, and in business, is Richard.  He's devoted countless hours and bucket loads of patience in building, changing, and re-building our site - he's even managed to retain his smile (or was it a grimace?) when I’ve asked for yet another change!

The site’s not quite complete yet, as there are other things we want to add, but we had to launch sometime and now’s as good a time as any! There are lots of exciting things planned for the future and it goes without saying that if there’s anything you feel we’re missing, please do let us know and we’ll see what we can do!  Just email Richard at richard@singlewithkids.co.uk with your suggestions, or post your ideas for improvement on the forum.
