breaking up

The loss of a loved one ranks as one of life's most stressful events whether this is through separation or death. Your whole life, routine and security is thrown upside down and you’re left facing these new challenges alone.

Not only do you suffer from the loss of your partner, the happy coupledom and the security of having someone there by your side, but the friends, extended family and little routines you shared are also affected. Living off only one income, it’s likely you’ll also need to make allowances in your standard of living. Everything familiar has changed and you’re coping with this without the person you would usually count on for support.

What do you do next? Who do you turn to? How will you cope?

The following pages will guide you through what to expect as you experience, suffer and eventually recover from this shock, with some helpful tips on coming through this stronger and ready to embrace your new life.
