Very relaxed, nice site – loved the hot tub, the children spent 90% of their time in it. Excellent coordinator. There was plenty of opportunity to participate and do a lot as the co-ordinator was brilliant at organising and making sure everybody was happy. I however, found that all the mums in our lodge got on so well and we were happy relaxing around the lodge a lot of the time. All the kids got on great and were happy just playing and jumping in and out of the hot tub and scootering around the site. It was a great chance to relax and not feel that we had to be dashing off anywhere. I even read my book! Great would definately book again.

“The coordinator, Elaine was great. She really put a lot of effort into making sure the group had lots to do and stayed together. It was also nice that the trips were reasonably priced and that there was no pressure to book them like you normally get on package holidays. This format really worked for me and my daughter. It was lovely to be able to get some guilt-free adult time knowing that she was having fun with her friends. It’s the first holiday since I’ve had her where I actually got to read a book!

I’ll definitely do more holidays with SWK – I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders knowing that I’ll always have a group of friends we can holiday with. Incidentally, I think there’s a gap in the market for this type of holiday for families with one child, because keeping an only-child entertained on holiday is difficult even if you’re holidaying with an adult

“My son really loved the holiday and meeting other children. He absolutely grew in confidence in the swimming pool as he made friends and spent the days largely playing in the pool with new friends. I loved how the 2 eight year old girlfriends he made would come to the door of our room and call for him for dinner!

The write up was accurate and the pictures too – both these and the text absolutely got the ethos and environment bang on.

We couldn’t fault this holiday. It was absolutely what I wanted and needed. Beautiful location, great standard of hotel. It was a great group, and good to be able to dip in or out of the group aspect with no pressure. Very relaxed. We all pitched in to signing up for the Aqua slide day out which was a lot of fun, then a few of us informally on the last day rented Quad bikes for the day and scoured a little of the island. Best fun I’ve had in ages!

It was like being part of a group holiday family and I could at times just relax knowing that my son was being watched by others in the group, especially once closer friendships were forged which happened naturally and quickly.”

“A really great holiday, the kids made loads of friends and spent most of the time in the pool. I sat round the pool reading books and chatting. The staff at the hotel were really helpful, the restaurant provided a free cake for my daughters birthday.

So easy and relaxing. kids had plenty of other similar aged children to play with. The highlight? Quadbiking, all the kids wanted a go on the quadbikes that some of us had hired.

I have just returned from my first SWK holiday to Majorca. What a fab time we had. Of course it was nerve racking to start with but everyone was so friendly. A big thank you to Chrissie who made us so welcome. Everyone helped everyone out so it felt like you were on holiday with your family – perfect for people like me who have children of different ages with very different interests and needs.

When I think of the 3 holidays I took the kids on before SWk on my own and how lonely I felt and compare it to Majorca there is no comparison !!! I made some great friends that I have seen since arriving back in England – even though they live “up North” and they have introduced me to other SWK members too! My kids made great friends too, who they cant wait to meet up with at Wickstead.  So if you are reading this and you have booked something and are nervous – don’t be! you will have a great time If you are thinking about taking the plunge and booking a SWK holiday go on do it!

I have just come back from the Cornwall Lodges holiday. “We were very lucky to there being such a lovely group of families on this trip. I’d say everyone gelled together (similar to the Conwy bunk barn last year). I found this holiday to be more relaxed than the UK holidays. I’d guess it’s because once I’d checked in everything was out of my hands. No driving here & there, no cooking, washing up etc.

The highlight? :Feeling very relaxed. So much so that only after a few days of arrival, Lisa said I was very chilled – something that not normally can be said after running around after my two!

It was in a fab location, just over from the beach. The resort was small and not commercialised, but just the right size for a family. As always, the holidays give parents the chance to have a speak and laugh with other parents rather than sitting their on their own whilst the children mix and mingle.”

There are a number of single, double and family rooms available on this break, some with ensuite facilities.

The price includes 3 nights self catering accommodation, with free use of the on-site facilities. The holiday will be accompanied by a Single With Kids Coordinator who will arrange group events throughout the break.

Our Accommodation

As a contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city, we’re staying in a lovely residential area just a short tube ride from central London.

We’re staying in apartments, sympathetically converted from large, detached Victorian houses.. There are large gardens,  a laundry, a heated indoor pool, sauna, and a communal lounge.

What’s included

We have a number of apartments booked, each holding between 3 – 4 families and the price includes accommodation in private rooms, with shared lounge and kitchen facilities. The rooms include double, twin or bunk beds, and are available with or without ensuite facilities.

Board basis

The trip is self catering and each apartment has kitchen facilities.

The coordinator will organise a number of group meals o throughout the weekend, both in the accommodation and out and about. These are not obligatory should anyone wish to make their own plans, and the cost is not included in the price of the holiday.

Family Ages

While the accommodation is suitable for all ages, we would suggest the city sights would be suitable for children of school age.

London City Break

London is a fabulous destination for a half term break. A mixture of history, culture but packed with family friendly attractions too.

This is a 3 night break, a good opportunity for children to see our wonderful capital but without wearing out little legs.

Where we’re staying

We’re staying in apartments in a residential area just a short tube journey from Central London. Easy to reach the sites, but with garden space for the children to play, as well as a communal indoor swimming pool to relax after a day in the city.

Things to do

London is brimming with sights and attractions! Visit the Tower of London, go on an Open Top Bus Tour, watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, go for a spin on the London Eye, see the wonders at the renowned National History Museum, explore Hyde Park, visit the scary London dungeons….and much, much more.

The trip will be accompanied by a coordinator with an itinerary appropriate to the ages and interests of the families booked. As ever, this isn’t obligatory – you’re interested to make your own plans or dip in and out of activities as you wish.

On an evening there is communal space at our accommodation for the children to play and adults to relax, as well as a swimming pool .

This is a 3 night trip starting Friday 26th October, leaving on Monday 29th October 2012.

Our accommodation is in a residential location ideal for families just 15 minutes by tube from central London. The post code is SE6 3AU and the property is easily accessible by public transport – just a 5 minute walk from Catford Bridge station.

Lapland Winter Magic

Where better for a winter break than Lapland? Stunning, unspoiled scenery, snow clad pines and pinky skies; and fabulous fun in this snowy paradise.

We’ve a fun packed itinerary for this holiday – reindeer safaris, husky sleigh rides, tobogganing, ice and snow fun and of course a  winter holiday simply wouldn’t be complete without a visit to see Santa too, in his very own home.

Our resort also offers skiing opportunities too for anyone wishing to take to the slope.

The price includes 6 nights self catering accommodation with an evening meal on 3 evenings. The holiday will be accompanied by a Single With Kids coordinator who will arrange group events throughout the break.

Children under the age of 2 are charged at the nominal cost of £35 if the parent books a single room and brings their own travel cot.
