Severn Valley camping trip
« on: May 27, 2017, 05:07:00 PM »

I'm new to this forum. I've booked for myself and my two children to join the camping weekend at the Severn Valley campsite next weekend. According to Facebook they're aren't many going. Is this just because those going haven't said so on Facebook?
It will be the first event I do with SWK and I've been looking forward to it.
I am, naturally, apprehensive. My children (5 and 2) can be quite shy. I haven't done this before.
I'd love to get an idea from forum members what to expect.
TIA
Emma x

Hi I'm new to this forum too. I'm in two minds about going to the camping trip. Slightly worried and nervous about going. I've been separated now for 4 wks and fancied doing the trip but wondered how many were going. My daughter is 10 and can't live with wifi or electricity! Lol so no electric hook up would drive her mad! Lol

Don't worry, there are always lots of people on the camping trip and they don't all use face book or go on line.

You will be made to feel very welcome and everyone helps out, so if you struggle to put the tent up, or forget to take something with you, fear not; someone will be able to help you out.

I am not a camper, so won't be there but have yet to go on any SWK event and not have a good time.

Your kids will love the freedom and the new friends they will make and you will be able to relax and enjoy the weekend.

Have fun :)
Life is what you make it.

We're going :)  and by 'we' I mean myself and my youngest.

There's usually between 30 & 50 Single Parent families on this camp.  I know that several of the regulars are going and a few that have never been on an SWK camp before.

You'll have a blast, your children will make friends in an instant and so will you.

See you there.
