Holidays, locations, how it works... / Severn Valley camping trip
« Last post by Em78 on Today at 05:07:00 PM »

I'm new to this forum. I've booked for myself and my two children to join the camping weekend at the Severn Valley campsite next weekend. According to Facebook they're aren't many going. Is this just because those going haven't said so on Facebook?
It will be the first event I do with SWK and I've been looking forward to it.
I am, naturally, apprehensive. My children (5 and 2) can be quite shy. I haven't done this before.
I'd love to get an idea from forum members what to expect.

South East & London / Brighton area older parents

I'm 51 with 3 children aged 12, 11 and 9. The oldest is Autistic with learning disabilities. I'd really like to make friends with other older parents and particularly with anyone who has a 9yr old daughter. I drive so can meet up outside Brighton.

A lot of the posts on here seem to be quite old (well the ones I can find anyway!)

I was wondering if anyone was around Newcastle?  I have recently moved with my 5 year old daughter and looking to make new friends.  :)

BTW: I discovered that Damson Gin makes a really nice addition to a cold glass of Prosecco.

When I say "I discovered", it was of course the lovely Lady Jo ... but I don't know her tag on here :)
Having a nice elderflower and lime cider. Shame I ran out of the rhubarb stuff.

We went swimming in the outdoor pool today. It was nice and quiet, apart from teeth chattering that is. :)

Hello Emma

We're possibly neighbours :)

How old are your boys?  Only asking because there are heaps of sports clubs in the area.  My youngest took to rugby & cricket in Bushy Park before settling on shooting ... all activities that involve children mean that parents get to engage with other parents.

Do you have a tent?

Keeping the wee darlings busy is definitely a good plan.
