Little list - Wales
« on: August 14, 2008, 01:36:45 PM »
Hi,
Let's build a little list of who's where in the region. Keep it simple with only names, kids ages and town - more complete introductions can come under the Find a Friend thread.

I'm not in your area but just to set the ball rolling....:

Chrissie, Kiera 8, Haidee 6 - Stockport

Welcome to the site Ruby08.  I'm Wendy and co-ordinator for Wales.  I will have to look at arranging meets that would be accessible for you, somewhere you don't have to drive too far.  I'm in North Wales but I'm sure we can come up with something that's easy for everyone to get to.  Sadly we're a bit thin on the ground in Wales at the moment but hopefully this will pick up.

Hi - I've been looking at the site and am interested in some of the trips - sounds like everyone has a good time!

Must admit that I would be nervous about going to one but have been reading other posts about peoples first experiences and makes it seem easier.  Just working up to taking the plunge!

Hi

Welcome to the site.  I'm Wendy and have a daughter aged 8.  We live in North Wales near Mold.  I've been racking my brains trying to think of places to meet that would kind of be easy for us living in Wales but logistically its proving a little difficult!  If anyone fancies meeting up in Feb half term I'm up for arranging something.  How about an indoor soft play area or a pub meet Wacky Warehouse type place?

Hi Welsh contingent

Ruth, Sylvia and i met up today for the first time in Swansea and it was great.  We should make an effort to arrange more stuff along the coast in Pembrokeshire and venture up to the gogledd as well.  It's going to be a good summer so shall we try and meet somewhere for some camping (the tent variety!!!!) or whatever suits everyone xxxx

Cmon Welsh mums and dads

Okay, summer holidays are coming up.  After last weekend's meet in Swansea, I'm all for expanding the SWK in Wales (south, north, west, east). Send any ideas or locations you have in mind to the site and we'll set something up.  At mo, I've got a nice pad in the marina in Swansea but we could try camping somewhere on the Gower or move east or west depending on interest.

Got to say the kids got on really well last week so I'm keen to get together soon xxxx

Camping in Gower sounds great (if i can scavenge a tent from somewhere.....!)  Folly farm, Chocolate factory in Swansea, Heatherton, i think dolphin spotting in Cardigan Bay was suggested before too. Bristol Zoo isn't too far (£10 return  on the train from Swansea) either.

What do you think of these ideas? what about an adults only night out? would anyone be up for hosting a bbq? (cue sylvia..... ;D)

we can't let all those in England have all the fun  ;D ;D ;D

Hi Peeps,
sorry I've been slow at getting involved no excuse, but the offer still stands for Cardigan Bay, we got lots of land which is safe for camping, plenty of Red Kites, big trampoline, hot tub,  (Dolphins in new Quay 20 mile away)  or can camp closer to the sea as well, I have checked out the Campsite at Cai Bach and it's good but tends to add up to being a little expensive, there are a couple of others in LLanina and LLanrhysted that are worth a look

Cheers
Paul

Ooh, what was the offer for Cardigan Bay?  Sounds good to me.  I'm buoyed up by this nice weather at the mo so am convincing myself that a summer of camping is the way forward (that, plus the cost of buying a new place / furniture etc - eek!).

I'm free most weekends so shall we try and get some mutually convenient dates together for anyone who's interested?
